New Life Västerås starting in January 2011

In January we will officially start New Life Västerås. The core team consists of the following people: Josef and Isabelle Arnfjäll, Martin & Theresia Wikström and Susanna & Mattias Cederlund with their children. On January 16th we will pray for them in the worship services to send them out as a church planting team. (Mattias and Susanna will move to Västerås in the beginning of the summer.)

The team will start with cell group ministry and organize some evangelistic events for their friends in Västerås. Do you have friends, family and/or acquaintances in Västerås who donʼt have a church or donʼt know God? Make sure to invite and connect them to the new church!

In the last half year, a few us in New Life's leadership have gotten to know the Arnfjells from Västerås and a relationship of mutual trust has developed between us. Leaders in Stockholm have met with them a number times, sharing about dreams, visions, theology, church planting, etc.

New Life, a church planting church

In recent years we have had a growing desire to spread our multicultural DNA as a church, which is why we started New Life Gothenburg two years ago.  Now we are looking towards the city of Västerås.  As leadership in Stockholm, we want to test the waters and see whether a new church (“New Life Västerås?”) could be planted together with our friends. We are praying to be connected to others who want to be a part of this vision. Are you interested?

Meet the Arnfjells

We are Josef and Isabelle and we have four sons named Zaion, Neo, Leevi and Ben. One and a half year ago God reminded us of a dream and calling that we have carried in our hearts - to plant a church. We have decided to step out into the water. Josef works as a mentor for youth refugees without parents. Isabelle, when not on maternity leave, is studying to become a pastor and works as a musician/singer and piano teacher.

When we think ”church” in Västerås, we see families, as well as young and older people; we see a multi-cultural gathering of people. Our longing and vision is confirmed by the needs found in the statistical information about Västerås. 157 different nations are represented in our city out of the 194 independent nation states in the world. We believe that the Church is God’s unique design for a life together and we see the Church as the “Hope of the World”. We share New Life’s vision and want to be a “presence sensitive church”. We are dreaming of a church where close, real and authentic relationships will characterize our fellowship.
