
What happens?
Couples share delicious meals in a relaxed, romantic ambiance, listen to a practical talk, and have time for private discussions (no group work).
Throughout the course they do helpful exercises and homework which strengthen their relationship.
Who is it for?
- Couples who are engaged or are considering marriage
- Those in strong relationships or those who are struggling
- Churchgoers or non-churchgoers
- Couples of any cultural background (sessions and materials in both Swedish and English)
What is covered in the course?
Over five sessions the course will offer practical tools to help build the foundations for a lasting marriage. You will look at:
- The importance of commitment
- How to recognize and appreciate your differences
- The art of communication
- Resolving conflict
- The importance of spending time together and nurturing your friendship
- Making each other feel loved
- Developing a good sexual relationship
- The importance of talking about your goals, values, and dreams
When and where?
The course will begin January 13, 2012 in Kungsholms Baptist Church, Stockholm. Sign up by January 6. A fee of 700 kronor covers meals and materials. A minimum of 3 couples is needed for the course to be held.
About the Marriage Preparation Course
As staff members at Holy Trinity Brompton, home of Alpha, Nicky and Sila Lee started The Marriage Preparation Course in 1985 and The Marriage Course in 1996. The Lees have been married for over thirty years, have four children, and are co-authors of The Marriage Book and The Parenting Book. The courses continue to spread with thousands of courses now running around the world.
