Break through in life for "broken wings"

"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing..."
Psalm 68:5-6

God has widows, orphans, and those with broken hearts in His heart. In our society today we have the equivalent of widows and orphans of biblical times. When there is no one else to be there for them, God wants to be there and fill the empty space. We are His hands and feet, and He wants us to stretch out our hands to our neighbor in a very practical way.

Who are we?

We are a group that meets to have lunch and hang out once a month. We call ourselves Under His Wings, because we want to be at rest in who we are, and share experiences that help us to move on in our lives.

Most of us are single parents, and others have different backgrounds, but what we have in common is that we have all discovered that life is not always easy. The feeling of being together with others who have been in similar situations may not solve anything, but it helps us with the tough processes we are going through.

What do we do?

We want these meetings to create bonds of friendship and a network of caring relationships. We share a meal together, at the cost price, and spend time together. From different themes we touch areas in life that we have gone through or are going through. We share our experiences and how we can manage to move on in life to see opportunities and receive new inspiration and joy, as well as how we have experienced God as a resource in the process.

What do we want?

Our vision is that we will become a network where we can be there for each other in a straightforward and practical manner. Some examples of themes we have touched upon are: How do I handle difficult circumstances? Bitterness and dissapointments, how do I handle failure?

How do I join?
