RE:ACT—A new initiative to support our social ministry
We have started an association in New Life to support people with specific material needs. We want to start a distribution network that helps bring together basic resources, in the form of goods and finances, in order to meet some of these needs.
Our desire is to build up a network of sponsors: businesses, companies, shop owners, and individuals who want to gather and to distribute these resources. We are in the process of gathering resources and individuals who want to be part of this initiative. We are in contact with people who have great needs and therefore want to appeal to our contacts to help us build a resource bank. You can take part by sending us your financial support by plusgiro 537106-7 or bankgiro 469-4053
Teams to Gothenburg to support New Life Göteborg
Every other weekend we will travel with one car to Gothenburg to support the ministry there. Many of our church members have been there to help plant the church by serving in practical ways, praying, evangelizing, or just being there to encourage the small growing fellowship. The church has approximately 20 members, and two people were baptized just a few weeks ago! A few people have also accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Interested in joining this coming year? Please sign up sending an email to john@newlife.nu.

“God, help!” The best prayer for a new season and new initiatives!
The continual growth of the church during the past few years has led to inevitable multiplication where we who are used to meeting as one congregation will now meet in two different groups, thus building another congregation within the New Life Group.
We are blessed as a church as we see the fulfillment and fruit of so many prayers prayed and seeds sown in the city and the lives of people these last 16 years. Every week, we serve approximately 600-700 people through our worship services. This year, we have already had the privilege of baptizing close to 30 people from many different backgrounds (mostly Swedish-born). Did you know, however, about the other different worship services and focus and language groups in New Life?
The aforementioned New Life Group is already three different congregations: our congregation here; Tomaskyrkan (TK), a Swedish-speaking congregation that meets at Bergsgatan 59 every Sunday at 15.00; and VEM (Vision Evangelique Mondial), a French and Swedish-speaking congregation that now meets at 15.30 in NL. As a church, we work closely with Kungsholms Baptist (KB) that is just a five-minute walk from NL. They have invited us to use their building for ministry opportunities, which is why Tomaskyrkan meets there. Additionally, New Life and Tomaskyrkan have joined together to launch an open pre-school at KB. A cell group, a prayer room, and our weekly Bible study evening called “Footprints” are all also facilitated there.
There are also several different language groups within NL that meet regularly. Our social ministry, “Stället,” continues to provide an open, low-threshold meeting for people on the fringes of society every Wednesday at 19.00. An Amarinja (Ethiopian) group meets weekly, and Mongolian and Romani-speaking groups also enrich our fellowship. The latest initiative among us is the start-up of a Russian/Swedish-speaking ministry under the leadership of Alexander Markov, who is now part of our staff. All of these groups have been formed in order to reach new un-churched and non-Christians through their own cultures and languages.
Describing the other different ongoing ministries within and outside the church would take too much space here, but we do want you to get a feel of the development of the ministry God is doing through the lives, testimonies, and ministries of so many different people within the New Life Group.
God, help! We are thankful to God for everything that He is doing. At the same time, we know that we are totally dependent on Him. Please stand with us in prayer and through involvement during this important phase in the church. With these developments in progress, there are dozens of ministry opportunities available for you who are looking for ways to get involved and to serve the Lord.
For New Life,
John van Dinther
One Another: relationship training
God created us for relationship, first with himself, and then with one another. Jesus said that the greatest commandment of all is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and the second is to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. He also told his disciples that it was through their love for one another the world would know that they are his followers.
Yet we often find this quite difficult to do. How can we love God so completely? Are we whole enough in ourselves to really love our neighbour? Can the world see that we follow Jesus because of how we love each other in our fellowship?
The learning/training opportunities presented in One Another are designed to give us the insight and the tools we need to have healthy relationships. The workshops and events are interactive with ample time for discussion and application of the principles taught.
